Ive been working with my dad on beveling the fins, got one of them done so far. had to fabricate a block sander with a, for lack of a better word "Bump stop" to keep a uniform bevel length, but it turned out really well. once the other two are done, I'm going to seal them, sand them smooth and get them installed once the vinyl goes on. The fins and the bottom 4" of the rocket will be gloss black. Once the fin decals go on, the fins will have a 1/2" black outline, the bottom of the rocket will represent the gloss black shoes of the uniform.

Got the fins beveled and ready, then dry fit it together.
Stands right at 7ft. And as said before the NC will be White, with the Eagle, Globe and Anchor on it representing the Dress Blue Cover (Hat for all you civillians!)

These will go on each fin on both sides and have a 1/2 inch reveal around the edges of gloss black.

Printed a fin alignment template from payloadbay.com and made an alignment jig using cardboard, mixed up some aeropoxy and got the fins glued to the MMT tube. Also got some wood putty smeared on the beveled edges, will sand that smooth today and get it prepped for the external fillets. Using Proline for those.

Can't wait to see it. My uncle was a marine, as well as several of my coworkers. I would love to get some pics of it when it is all done to show them.

External fillets of Proline epoxy applied this weekend. All that's left is to fill the spirals and sand, finish sanding the paint off the NC and then get the whole thing primed, NC gloss white, bottom 6" gloss black, and outer edges of the fins gloss black.

No real updates on this one lately, Whenever its warm enough I add more filler primer to the fins and sand. Have to contact Mark at stickershock and get going on the vinyl if I have any intentions on getting this thing in the air at Red Glare!
