Dual Deploy NCR SA-14 Archer
#1
Details:
2.6" Diam. 48" tall, 29mm MMT. Built pretty much all stock, but used a small eye bolt in forward CR with a loop of 3/16" braided Kevlar ties so its just inside the end of the BT. I'll tie a piece of regular nylon to that.
Av bay consists of a Madcow removable Av-bay kit, RRC2+, 9v battery, Featherweight Magnetic switch, small Blast Cap charge wells.
I'll take more pictures of the av-bay and switch/altimeter layout this evening. But, here's the finished product:

Guess I'll have to get a Bright Neon chute in case it decides it wants to go hiding in the soy beans!
I was actually thinking of painting it the same as its big brother the 2x upscale, but decided not to.

Looks nice in that paint scheme but it is certainly not soybean friendly. I hate those soybeans. Still not used to an Archer kit being 2.6".

My L3 landed in the soybeans ata MARS launch, and large chute and all, it was totally hidden from view!
A tracker can be a life (rocket) saver in those instances.
I have helped recover others' rockets in the corn fields.
I'll take soy over corn any day! Wink

Now, if you'd just get cracking at finding my original 4" Archer in the trees at the sod farm...

A lightweight long streamer ribbon that can stay up on to of the crop canopy or tangle up on to where it's visible would probably greatly help too and can easily attach to the shock cord or parachute canopy...

I have a screamer I can/will attach to the nc/shock cord so when it deploys it pulls the pin. Used it twice on the sod farm when we were launching from across the street two summers ago. The one weekend everything was going into the corn. Found both my LOC Bullet and G-Force using the screamers.
