Removable NC coupler is ready. Drilled 6 evenly spaced holes then countersunk the machine screws. Also got the forward centering ring epoxied to the motor tube.

ok guys, question. Best way to drill the switch band/coupler for the altimeter arming switches? I have a 1/2" forstner bit I use on cardboard, or is there something else that works better on fiberglass?

Forstner bit is the way I'd go.  Since it cuts from the outside, it won't grab the switch band and jerk it loose from the coupler.  Of course, make sure it's sharp.   Wink

What I want to do is get the centers, draw a circle on the switch band for both switches, then make the holes all the way through, separate them, then use the dremel to enlarge the holes on the switch band to counter sink the switches, then epoxy the band to the coupler. That's assuming AMW has them for me tomorrow. The switch band shouldn't be a problem 2" wide x 6", but the coupler is a custom length 14" vs the standard 12" so I still get 6" into the airframe on either end.

Forstner bit works well. I used a 3/4" on a 2"x4" switch band (Frenzy XL) to mount two key switches. WARNING: Using one creates a lot of dust, be careful.

Dave, what did you decide? Are you going with the standard 1", or waiting for RW to send you the longer coupler?

AMW/RW (Jason) is going to ship the 2" band and longer coupler since they are on their way cross country so they wont be back until the March launch so, no motors at the February launch. Bring what ya got cuz they wont be there.

Received the Switch band and coupler direct from RW yesterday! Going to be a flurry (no snow pun intended!) of building this weekend!
I also ordered 4-40 nylon shear pins and matching tap.
So, the agenda for the weekend is:
1. Drill and tap shear pins
2. Drill for arming switches
3. Drill for holes screws to hold coupler to payload bay
4. Get measurements to send to Teddy @ OneBadHawk and order my Harnesses
