CJ's 4inch Punisher!
#1
Yeah Baby!

I won this at Airfest by flying highest with the 3 in version.
Spent today out in Charlie's shop, using some real nice machinery to make life simple prepping my parts for this Punisher-4 build!

More to come tomorrow when assembly begins. Spent today doing the mundane......sanding, fitting etc.

Standard stuff...4in airframe.Single break. Dual-deploy out of nose cone. Av-bay in NC shoulder.
3/16 in fins.75mm motor mount.

Are you going to stage this one too?

Either way it's always nice when you get a build going. Fun to read along and learn new techniques.

Oh and I love the 3" version (but that nose cone...). I just put mine up on its first K motor yesterday. K740 to 9,942' and Mach 1.5. Just 58' shy of the waiver!

Thanks! Since its such a high performance model, I decided it was sort of like a mini sounding rocket and deserved a paint job to match. Next time I get out to painting I'm going to put bright orange tracking squares in there to (hopefully) make it slightly more visible at 10k+.

You need to turn down the coupler to fit into the cone?

Lathes are the best tool for rocketry, hands down.  The Lathe/Mill/Drill combo is cool but sometimes I feel the lathe component suffers when the added capability is introduced.

Yummy, 4" Punisher with 75mm power. Too bad it will easily break the waivers anywhere I usually fly (Holtville, Vegas, Lucerne).

Lathe, good. Mill, good. Much bigger garage than I have, REALLY good.

Well considering a 14 pound, 4" diameter model (one I'm building now) sims to ~7,500' on a 2 grain L910, I don't think two would work out so well for a 10,000' waiver.
