Update for CTI ProX Motor Orders for Canada
Posted by: Sunward - 05-23-2018, 10:59 AM - Forum: Vendor & Manufacturer Display - Replies (1)

Cesaroni (CTI) is now back in production, but inventory is very low as dealers replenish stock and fill back orders.

After speaking with staff at Cesaroni, we can offer the following guidelines for ordering high power motors in Canada:

The best way to get the desired motors is to place a pre-order 1-2 months ahead of time. Pre-orders would secure the motors before sale to other dealers.

Larger motors, such as Pro75 and Pro98, may need 2-3 months lead time.

Allow 1-2 weeks for Sunward to receive and ship motors to the final address.

There is no production on White Thunder, C-Star, and VMAX until further notice.

Sunward is working with Cesaroni to offer the best selection of motors to rocketeers in Canada but current inventory levels require some adjustment and patience.

Looking for anyone in the Northern VA or Metro DC region that have AT or CTI 75mm reloads for sale. Rather meet or pickup at a launch, not looking to have any shipped.
What you got?

  The boys and their projects
Posted by: IndianaSteve - 05-14-2018, 09:13 AM - Forum: Your Projects - Replies (4)

Yet another build going on at our house. The boys started their new projects for the next club launch June 10th. My oldest is building a 4” MadCow Cowabunga, and the youngest is building the always great Estes Executioner.
Both boys started motor mount assembly and some fin prep last night. Should be another great launch coming up.
My boys love getting their hands dirty and building just as much as they do flying!

  A little fun project
Posted by: IndianaSteve - 05-04-2018, 07:54 PM - Forum: Your Projects - No Replies

Well in the downtime of my L1 project I have been working on this little Tomahawk. Picked this kit up cheap for just something fun to play around with. I had never built a Loc kit before, so I get to kill 2 birds with 1 stone!
Great built little kit, great quality of robust parts included and should be able to scoot with a 29mm motor mount. I have it fully assembled, and a coat of primer shot on, and am now considering paint options. Anyone have any ideas? The solid white traditional scheme seems a bit boring, and there weren’t any decals included, so I don’t think I will stick with the traditional scheme.
So anyone built the Tomahawk and went rouge on the paint job? I could use a few ideas 😎

  Little John 4” CP
Posted by: IndianaSteve - 04-30-2018, 12:45 PM - Forum: High Power - Replies (4)

Looking for a little help here. I’m building a MadCow little John4” paper rocket for my L1 attempt. I’m wondering if anyone with Rocksim or Openrocket could find out the CP for me. I did the cardboard trick and want to see how close it is to correct. I know I will need nose weight and want to get as close as I can for my L1 flight.
My laptop is down, and neither program is mobile friendly  Dodgy
Appreciate any help

  L1 build thread
Posted by: IndianaSteve - 04-23-2018, 06:35 PM - Forum: High Power - Replies (24)

Well the time has finally come! It is time to build the rocket I will attempt my L1 certification with. My rocket of choice is the Madcow 4” Little John with a 38mm motor mount.

I am going to attempt to do my first build thread here so bear with me  Big Grin

Parts that came in the kit are pretty straight forward, and seem to be of good quality. 1/4” plywood fins and centering rings, heavy eyebolt and rail buttons and a 38mm motor mount. This is the first Madcow kit I have purchased and am pleased with the quality of parts that are included.

I did purchase a couple extra parts to use in the build. A aero pack engine retainer and a Loc engine adapter so I can use some of my 29mm hardware for test flights.
Stay tuned for construction updates!

  Der Saturn Max
Posted by: Trident - 04-13-2018, 01:20 AM - Forum: Your Projects - Replies (3)

My latest project, the little known, never photographed until now, secret German moon rocket ...

Der Saturn Max

It’s been getting roll patterns over the past few days, and just needs the mid-body roll pattern.  Typical “Max” decals to be added in the next few weeks.  I must determine the size I want and contact Mr. Stickershock.

This one has the standard 24 mm motor mount, but will fly on the F24 White Lightning 24/40 RMS.

  Math behind a suicide burn
Posted by: gereshes - 04-02-2018, 08:35 AM - Forum: Rocketry-Related - Replies (1)

Hey,

I'm currently writing a two post series about the math behind a suicide burn. The first part, which can be found here and is up now, goes over the system dynamics and works on simulating the system in Matlab. Part two, which drops next week Monday, focuses more on the analytical math behind suicide burns.

Let me know what you think!

Thank you,
Ari

  New MMX kit coming soon
Posted by: BARGeezer - 03-27-2018, 07:29 PM - Forum: Micro Maxx MMX - No Replies

Saw this at erockets today:

http://www.erockets.biz/semroc-flying-mo...ro-kmx-06/

Nice to see a new MMX kit being introduced.

EDIT: The link is no longer working, looks like the page was deleted. Maybe someone spilled the beans too soon at erockets. But it's a MMX scaled Blue Bird Zero. On TRF, it was mentioned that four MMX kits are forthcoming. Woo hoo!

Update: 4 new kits are the BBZ, Goblin, Fat Boy, and the Hawk.
