Just found this forum this so morning so.......
I became a B.A.R. 9 years ago, and haven't looked back!! I Launched my first rocket, an Estes K#11 Wac Corporal in 1968...yep! Im OLD Big Grin !!
Its almost sickening how many rockets ive built in the last 9 years, and I enjoy every second of it! I fly mainly low power with some mid power thrown in....
the biggest motor ive used is a G80 in an Estes Leviathon..BEAUTIFUL flying model!! I do fly a lot of D powered stuff including some 188mm to 24mm conversions....im currently building a Rocketarium Little John for my Great Grandson as his 2nd rocket...he is only7, and not quite ready for the building part yet, but he loves to see them FLY!! Gonna try to post a few pics here! Have a GREAT DAY Smile Smile !

Sunward Rockets www.sunward1.com is proud to announce our completed website overhaul and re-launch.

The new website handles e-commerce for the US market for Sunward rocketry products, Hypertek, and CTI ProX line of high power hardware.

These upgrades include:

  • more powerful dedicated server
  • new web software
  • more secure user passwords
  • new server security features
  • SSL https certificate
  • all user data is now encrypted
  • drop down menus
  • mobile friendly layout on all pages
  • credit cards payment via PayPal
  • display searches based on price, newness, and popularity
  • full integration of blog post to Facebook, Twitter, and Google+
The website boasts a user-friendly, modern and colorful design for quick and easy access to all products and information.

Although the overhaul changed Sunward1.com, we plan to implement more improvements in the future. We will continue to listen to customer feedback and make changes to better your shopping experience.

  Recent builds
Posted by: BARGeezer - 02-26-2018, 10:26 AM - Forum: Micro Maxx MMX - Replies (3)

Hi, new member here. Here's a couple of pics of recent MMX builds. So recent that they're still "nekkid". I see that the last post here was over 2 years ago. Hope we can keep this section going for all the Maxxers out there.

ASP That Tube! rocket. Easiest MMX build ever.

Fliskits Intergalactic Man of Space. Next to an Astron Spaceman clone.

I hope to do a build thread in the near future here. Maybe a kit, maybe a scratch or downscale.  See ya!

  God trackers
Posted by: IndianaSteve - 02-22-2018, 08:13 AM - Forum: Recovery - Replies (2)

Well since my son and I are slowly getting into higher power rocketry and the electronics that are associated with it, I am in the market for some sort of tracking system. Would like to hear some thoughts on systems for newbies like ourselves.
With a chute release, and altimeter on board most of our high power and mid power flights I think it would be a good investment. I am hoping to find a unit that wouldn’t necessarily need a av bay to use. . Is there something in the $200 range that would fit my bill?
Appreciate any insight.
Steve

  Super Big Bertha
Posted by: IndianaSteve - 01-27-2018, 05:31 PM - Forum: Mid Power - Replies (6)

Did a fun build out of some spare parts lying around this weekend. Built a bit larger version of the Super Big Bertha. It makes my 3rd Bertha, coming in @ 44” tall and a 29mm motor mount it should be a fun flier! Well here is a couple pics of what I have dubbed Stealth Mode.

  Hello from Buffalo
Posted by: gereshes - 01-22-2018, 11:23 AM - Forum: Introductions - Replies (2)

Hey,

I'm an undergraduate studying aerospace engineering at the University at Buffalo and have my L1 cert and am currently building another scratchbuilt for my L2 cert. I've started a website to cover some of my engineering projects that I'm working on/have completed. Quite a few of these projects involve high power and experimental rocketry and ~ 1/3 of my site is devoted to it. You can find the main rocketry page here http://gereshes.com/rocketry/ . The website also has a blog portion where I am trying to post every Monday. The blog is currently in the middle of the series detailing the rolling out of a test stand to support the Universtiy at Buffalo SEDS experimental motor program. You can find the latest post here http://gereshes.com/2018/01/22/structura...-roll-out/

  Fun V2 build
Posted by: IndianaSteve - 01-19-2018, 09:35 PM - Forum: Low Power - Replies (1)

Just finished a fun build tonight. The Estes V2 had always been on my build list, but I never purchased one. Well all that changed last week when the UPS dropped this one off. I wasn’t go for a show paint job on this, I wanted that retro camouflage look. The OD green and black is my favorite combo, so here is how she turned out. Now to wait for the weather to turn and get her in the air!
