Smoky Sam - wclune - 06-07-2015

I flew my first CTI Smoky Sam today, that motor was 13yrs old!
I was very pleased with the flight, what a trail of black smoke!

Wow, a 13 year old composite... You must have some great storage conditions Bill!

Yes I do but I purchased a bunch of CTI stuff from the family of a deceased club member a few years ago. Some of them dated back to LDRS23 in Geneseo. Robert DeHate claims so long as the packaging is intact the motors should be good.

Greg it was my 4" skeeter and it was a perfect flight. The delay was still after all these years SPOT on!

I have flown some really old Aerotech H, I, and J motors that were about 20 years old.   In fact, the J was sitting in a case assembled for at least 10 years.  I sanded the grains some and they lit without any problem;so I am not surprised.  However, I am shocked that your delay was accurate!

The I212 Smokey is my one of my favorite loads for my Minnie Magg. Wonderful flight.

I am not sure what designation it was, 38mm 4 grain I### Smoky Sam in a 4" skeeter NICE

Looks like I287 http://www.pro38.com/products/pro38/motor.php at least looking at current products.

I have flown the AT I211 and I have the CTI case that I want to try that load in my Magg. What altitude did you get? My Magg is a little on the heavy side.

Hard to say the altitude, no altimeter but it was a good flight. It had plenty of hand time. My guess was around the 2400 range.
